I m debating between doing one of those or doing a 5 day plan where i work arms chests back shoulders and legs. Don t want to buy any expensive equipment. I started back in the gym by going just 3 days week with a generic bro split. You really cant do a proper deadlift with a dumbbell trust me it just becomes more like another squat.

The 5 day plan would only have about 5 or so things i could do each day and would do 4 sets of 8 of each of them. There is a back chest machine row chest push and a bicep tricep machine bicep curl tricep pushdown.
I m aware this isn t what you asked but its a routine i highly recommend. Anywho here is my current workout plan with my max lifts at this time. If i follow one i plan to add in more on the rest days or atleast cardio and abs. My goal at the time was to just get healthy again.
The workout can be performed for up to 12 weeks. For a long time i continued with this slowly regaining my passion for fitness. It s not full body but i found my beginner gains were huge using this. Squats are fine but not deadlifts.
In response to your question stick at your routine for a minimum of 3 months. All you need is an adjustable bench and some dumbbells. Dumbbells can hit every part of the body except your lower back. It s perfect for those who work out at home travel and are on the road a lot or beginners who are new to weight lifting.
They re all based on 3 day plans. Dumbbell only workout i m back at the neighborhood gym for the summer and all they have is a smith machine and dumbbells that go up to 75 lbs. After 12 weeks you may want to consider increasing the volume within the workout the weight of the dumbbells you are using or look into facilities that offer more of a variety of weighted equipment. This is beginner intermediate.
